Memories from a magical stay in this truly unique property with unparalleled views over Spinalonga island in Crete 🇬🇷 Each & every room has its private pool facing the bay (yes, you heard that right!!) and the hotel’s eco-friendly architectural design perfectly blends in the hills to form part of the local landscape.

We spent 3 days watching the sun rise & set above the sea from our balcony, filling our bellies with the most delicious Greek food (am I the only one obsessed with it?? 🤤), going on daily nearby adventures thanks to @cayoresort top-notch location or just swimming & admiring the panorama when we were feeling a little too comfortable here to move 🙊

Is this place even real? 🥹🩵

If you’re a fan of the white-sand-and-crystal-clear-waters paradise combo, well.. add this place to your bucketlist NOW, because Balos beach is definitely one of the best gems you’ll find in Crete 🏖️

🔒 Practical information:

You can access it by boat (1h from Kissamos port, around 40€ pp) 🛥️ or by car (free 8 km off-road path - 4-wheel preferred, or just go veeery slow as most rental companies don’t actually allow it… but everybody goes anyway 🤫) 🚘
In both cases there’s a 1€ cash fee pp. to enter the natural reserve.

If you go by car, also be careful with the goats, they are ruling the place 🐐 Then you’ll have to descend to the beach with a 30-min easy hike 🥾 Not as easy as the boat, but this way you can beat the crowds in the morning, and trust me the views are SO worth it 🤩🤩

After several attempts, I finally found THE spot where you can catch a clear view of the Olympic Flame cauldron taking off in the sky with the sparkling Eiffel Tower in the background ✨Truly the most magical experience 🔥 And if you missed it during the Olympics, you can always come back during the Paralympics when it will be up again! 🇫🇷

💸 Just a reminder that it’s FREE, accessible to everyone, and requires no QR code or reservation 🙌🏻

📍Tuileries garden - for this exact spot, go to the right side when starting from the Arc de Triomphe du Carousel, keep walking until you’re along the wall of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs on the right & you’ll be able to go up on the pillars framing the museum’s entrance doors🚪it makes the perfect promontory for a clear view! DM me if you need further explanation 💬

⏰ Make sure to go a bit before sunset
(around 9.15pm these days) to watch both the sun setting behind the hot air balloon and the balloon taking off ~ precise timing changes everyday depending on the weather but it’s usually right after sunset 🌅

🎈 The balloon goes up to 60 meters in the air & stays up there until 2am ✨

🗓️ up until August 10 during the Olympics, but back again during the Paralympics from the 28th of August to the 8th of September ⏳

Nowhere else like Étretat 🌊

France is definitely full of natural wonders, but among them all, this one is a little extra special ✨ The way the light hits the jagged limestone cliffs & wild coastline here is indescribable, magical, ethereal. Every angle of it looks like a painting, sounds like poetry, smells like freedom, and all of it at the same time. Étretat is pure raw beauty. Easy to see why it inspired so many artists throughout the years, like Monet, Courbet or Gauguin just to name a few 🎨

Located in Normandy, it is easy to reach from Paris by train (2h 🚂 to Le Havre + 1h bus 🚌) or car (3h 🚘), which makes it the perfect weekend getaway. You can also go there on a day trip only, but if you have the time, I would definitely recommend to spend 1 night around ~ just to have that little golden hour picnic on top of the cliffs 🧺🍷 ~ and maybe couple it with other charming cities nearby, like Honfleur, Deauville or Cabourg 🇫🇷

Lost in a pink paradise 🌸

Finally managed to capture the most enchanting field of cherry blossoms near Paris: Parc de Sceaux 🤩 I was telling you 2 weeks ago under a former post that even after years of content creation in Paris (well, and my whole life living here by the way 😅🫣), I kept on missing this place at blooming peak every year, but I guess 2024 finally breaks the cycle! And oh my, how stunning it is 🥹

It is for sure a bit of organization to come here since you can’t access it as easily as the other spots in central Paris, and it’s easy to miss the blooming window which is always so short. But if you can find the time, definitely plan a day-trip (or even just a morning walk) to witness these endless rows of fluffy Kanzan cherry blossom trees 💗

Located barely 30min away from Paris, the Parc de Sceaux is a pure fairytale scene, especially in April where the North Grove comes to life for Hanami celebrations 🌸 but you can also visit all year long, the castle & all gardens are absolutely magnificent as well!

📍Bosquet Nord, Parc de Sceaux, France (30 min away from Paris with RER B)
🗓️ Come between 5th & 20th of April (on average) to see them in full bloom 🌸 - these were taken on the 11th of April 2024, but the blossoms have been early this year, so make sure to be flexible and plan/adapt your visit carefully depending on the weather next spring.
⏰ As always, try to be there as early as possible in the morning and on a weekday to avoid the big crowds - sunrise light is especially magical here ☀️

10- Parc de Sceaux ~ even though this illustrating picture is from Trocadéro, since it’s the only spot I still don’t have any photos from 🫣 this place is outside Paris (20km away) so it’s a bit more organization to go & I keep on missing it every year 😅 but make sure to go if you can because it’s literally a cherry blossoms paradise 🌸 stay tuned to see if I will FINALLY succeed to capture them this year!! 🤞🏻
